The Commissioner's Corner - Joey Neutrelle

Joey what has your time in the FHL been like since you joined in the eek 5 waiver draft? Its been great. I have a very supporting team that loves to win and I got to meet some of the other goalies like Rick Severa and Jim Besterci that give me tips on what to do when times get tough. You currently lead the league with a 0.54 goals against average, unprecedented numbers for a rookie. What has been the key to your success? Just to watch my angles and be aware of who is in front of the net at all times so I can tell one of my defenders to cover them. You are one of the youngest players in the league. Is it intimidating at times facing grown men? Not really. A lot of them have a hard shot but I knew what I was getting into when I signed up for the FHL. The Crosbys have been on a hot streak since you stepped between the pipes (6 wins in a row). Who on the team has been the biggest help in your development? Jim Johnston has helped me a lot blocking so many shots that could have gone in but every person on the Crosbys helps me on my success. The Crosbys have not won a playoff game in 3 years. Do you think you guys have what it takes to make a serious run this year? With our killer offense and strong defense we have what it takes to go all the way. Favorite FHL player to watch? Jason Kortz Favorite NHL player? Geno Current FHL MVP? Tony Bonacorso Best FHL goalie? Jim Besterci Favorite sport other than hockey? I love the Pirates so baseball Most underrated player in the FHL? Sean Lyons. He is a great defender and not afraid to block a shot. Toughest player to face in a shooutout? Chad Kanz. He rocked a shot through my 5 hole when I faced him last.

Commissioner's Corner - Craig Hixon

Describe how it feels to finally play for one team.
It feels good to finally be involved with just one organization instead of trying to play your heart out for every team in the league and trying not to disappoint the 2pm teams even though a hard fought two games have already been played. I also love the feeling that every Saturday's performance counts towards lifting that FHL Cup that I never had the opportunity to win with just one program.
Did you anticipate the Jets taking you before the draft? I truly thought that would be one of the last teams to select me. If you look back at their franchise history, they were all veterans and with me only being 17 I never dreamed that I would be wearing that beautiful royal blue. How much does it help having a core of young players on your team that you can relate to? It helps out a lot. Most of those young players on our team I have been friends with since before high school, so to get us all together out on the ice with their jet fast speed helps out a bunch. You guys are currently in 4th place, but only a game out of 1st. Do you consider the Jets a legitimate threat to win the cup? Without a doubt. Truly any team is a threat. With the way the system works you only need 3 wins in the entire season to win the Cup so it will all come down to who is the hungriest in June. What other team(s) do you feel has the best shot to win it all? Mostly all have good shots. Crosby's with Bono, Thunder with Kanz. Like I said June is the time to show up and leave everything you have out on that rink. Favorite FHL player to watch? When he's not up against me, Mr. Kanz Favorite NHL player? All time- Patrick Roy, Current-have to go with Geno 1st half FHL MVP? Tony B. Best FHL goalie? All-time Mr. Meade, Current-Marty is having one hell of a year. Favorite sport other than hockey? Soccer Most underrated player in the FHL? Max "The Vehicle" Vehec Toughest player to face in a shootout? haha, well looking across the ice Mr. Seaman put 2 top shelf on the other goalies so I'm going with him.
