So Rick, you've been in the league for over a month now. What are your thoughts on your play as an individual, as well as your thoughts on the league?

I feel I'm starting to settle into my own now, and getting more of a feel for the style of play and the tendancies of my competition. And it's a good thing too, becuase Jimbo James has done some serious damage to my W column on the stat sheet. The FHL is a top class organization, from the management to the players.

Well said. You've gotten a pretty decent look at the 6 teams that will do battle in the playoffs in just over a week. What team or teams do you think have the best shot a winning the 4th FHL cup?

That's really tough to answer becuase anything can happen out there, and I'll just leave it at that...But between you me and the wall over there, I wouldn't be surprised if the Moose bring it home, they have a solid core if everyone shows up.

You and Besterci have offered the most consistent goaltending the league has seen to date. What it is like to battle against a player of his caliber every saturday?

It's tough, ya know?...But it wouldn't be as satisfying to win without that kind of competition, and he's a class act to boot. I enjoy it becuase it makes me elevate my game, and hate it for what it's done to my W-L record....haha

Some would call your goaltending style unorthodox, but it is successfull none the less. How would you describe your style and is it comparable to any professional players?

It's tough to say, ya know?...I like to think of it as a hyper aggresive hybrid style of play. I have a really wide range of motion with my Kohos; they may not be pretty, but they get the job done. It's hard to pinpoint any pro goalies, maybe Arturs Irbe..."LIKE WALL!"

Indeed. Just a few quick hitters now
Favorite NHL player?

CAREY PRICE!

Favorite FHL player?

That's tough. Proabably Kortzy. He's the guy that's the most fun to go against in the shootouts, never know what he's gonna do.

Last guy you wanna see coming at you on a breakaway?

Kortz

Defensemen you pick first to have on your team?

I'm gonna go with Mike Cullen, kind of a sleeper pick. He can put his shots on net, man up on defense, and uses his feet well. Defensemen HAVE to be able to use their feet, especially around their own net.

Nice. Well thanks for your time Rick. Good luck with the rest of your season.

Thank you...and remember kids, BOYLE IN FIVE!
