Commissioner's Corner - Zack Siniawski

In the second segment of "The Commissioners Corner", FHL commissioner John George talks with Moose Captain Zack Siniawski, who has just celebrated his 23rd birthday on Tuesday. First off Zack happy 23rd birthday. Well thank you Mister Commissioner. Z, you were sidelined for most of the first half of the season with a 'lower body injury' how is that holding up and have you hit your full stride yet? Yeah, ya know it was tough sitting out watching the guys work hard every week. But uh, the guys were successful so that made it much easier to find my stride coming back into the lineup. And the hamstring hasn't bothered me at all lately, i guess maybe on account of the weather breaking. Good news there. The moose have in fact been very succesful. What has been the key to this steadily hot season? We owe it all to a winning attitude in the locker room. The guys on this team are all tough competitors, and I think we compliment each other well, raising one another's level of play. But even with our aggressively competitive style, we are able to play a methodical game keeping the opposing teams on their heals and trying to control the time of possession. Rogers and Pingor have led the way in scoring, but it seems like anytime we need somebody to step up and make a big play, anybody is capable of doing so. Indeed. You guys have a firm grip on the top seed for the playoffs, but the competition below you may pose problems down the road. What teams and players do you guys have to watch out for? Yeah, ya know. With the amount of skill spread around the league this year, any team can get hot at the right time and make a good run. The Crosby's and Jets are the obvious perennial contenders so they are definitely teams to watch out for. But the Pirates and Boyle seem to be finding something lately with some shakeups in the locker room, and you cannot discount the Kings who have struggled, but shown flashes of good hockey at times. That said, we aren't really looking at any specific team down the stretch. No matter who we play, we have to be playing Moose hockey come May. Myself, along with the other guys in the locker room have bought into the system, and we feel we will beat anyone if we are playing Moose hockey. Well said. Just a few quick ones now. Favorite NHL player? Sid the kid. Cliche', I know. Favorite FHL player? Mark Fetsko. Love the way he clogs lanes. Player in the FHL you least like playing agaisnt? Matt Wierchowski. More hustle than NYC. Favorite linemate of all time? Going back to our days at Bishop Boyle, and again today, Dustin and I have always seemed to find a chemistry. Thanks for your time today Zack. Good luck with the rest of the season. Thank you, John.
