Week Twelve: 3/20/10 - Preview

Moose: 8-3 (29-16) vs. Bishop Boyle: 3-8 (16-25) In a matchup with the second place Moose, Bishop Boyle is looking for a spark as the stretch run is coming sooner than we all might think. Brian Grise’s team is going to need plenty of offense to beat the high scoring Moose, who are led by Jeff Pingor with 19 goals on the year so far. Boyle is one of the worst scoring +/- teams at -17, while the Moose have scored 66 goals on the year, which is the best at +33. This is the last time these two teams will meet this season, unless they should see each other in the playoffs. The Moose lead the season series 2-0. Cristallini Prediction: Moose in 4 games Crosby's: 8-3 (26-20) vs. Kings: 2-9 (12-29) The Kings are on a roll… for now. Coming off a huge win against the Pirates, where there were on 7 guys total for both teams, the Kings are looking to improve to a 2 game winning streak for the first time all season. But, it’s going to take a valiant effort against the ever dangerous Crosby’s squad led by All-Star scoring threat Roy McDonald. Zack Wahal has yet to join his new team since being traded from the Kings in February. Adam Cristallini, Ryan Stottlemeyer and Joe Sims continue to lead the way for the Kings scoring wise. Their Defense is still a question. Crosby’s on the other hand are solid all around with Buddy Doyle and Dave Gilson anchoring their defense. These two teams do not meet anymore this season. Cristallini Prediction: Crosby’s in 5 games Jets: 8-3 (28-14) vs. Pirates: 4-7 (19-26) Are the Jets relying too much on Brian Barca? Does anything outside the Pirates think they are underachieving so far this season after reaching the finals last year? Most people might say “yes” to each of those questions. What will be definite this Saturday is there will be many goals scored. Barca has scored 30 goals this season for the Jets, they have a total of 52. Tony Bonacorso, who registered 28 goals last year, has only 9 so far in this campaign. The Pirates can hopefully can support from the rest of the cast and gain momentum in the stretch run. Cristallini Prediction: Pirates in 5 games Goalie Report This Week's Goaltenders will be Craig Hixon and Rick Severa, who has been officially announced as a FHL regular goaltender for the 2009-10 season.
