Week Three: 1/2/10 - Preview

First Official FHL Rankings for the Season are as follows: 1. Crosby’s (2-0, 6-3) 2. Bishop Boyle (1-1, 4-3) 3. Jets (1-1, 3-4) 4. Pirates (1-1, 3-4) 5. Moose (1-1, 5-5) 6. Kings (0-2,4-6) Jets(1-1,3-4) vs. Crosbys(2-0,6-3) The Crosbys are off to a great start and are approaching their highest franchise winning streak of 3 when they won out last season to earn the No. 2 seed in the playoffs. Now, they are #1, and they’re going up against the former No.1 Jets, who were upset and swept at the hands of Bishop Boyle. This match-up will feature arguably the two best scorers in the league, Jets Brian Barca(8g,0a,8p) and Crosby’s Roy McDonald(6g,0a,6p). Both teams have only had 2 players each register goals so far in the young season. Look for players like Zak Campbell (Jets) and Michael Stadelman (Crosby’s) to be factors this week. Cristallini Prediction : Crosby’s win series 3 to 2 Moose(1-1, 5-5) vs. Bishop Boyle(1-1, 4-3) Bishop Boyle is coming off what might be their biggest series win in their storied history, sweeping the Jets in 3 games and only allowing one goal in Game 2. Nick Siniawski had 2pts with an overtime winner in Game 2 and shootout goal in the first game. Brian Grise will lead his Catholic Crusaders against a hungry Moose team who will be without Capt. Zack Siniawski (undisclosed lower-body injury). The Moose got tallies in Games 2 and 4 from Jeff Pingor and Gabe Gerson respectively, but it was only enough to send the series to the final game where they lost 3-0. Cristallini Prediction : Bishop Boyle wins 3 to 1 The Kings have battled each week so far, but costly mental mistakes and lack of scoring from go-to guys have the Kings sitting outside the castle and looking in. Joe Sims, a rookie recorded his first career goal and two assists in his first ever game, and 4 other kings scored vs. the Crosby’s as they lost in a shootout in Game 5. Ryan Stottelmeyer and Kwolek lead the team in goals with 3 each, The Kings will be looking to guys like Drew Hruska, Matt Wierchowski, and Adam Cristallini to step up against Andrew McDonald and Tony Bonacorso and the quick striking Pirates who are beginning to hit stride and climb to the top of the league once again. The Pirates have a well-balanced attack along with defenseman Buddy Doyle and Ryan Cleary who could have a big impact this week. Cristallini Prediction : Pirates win series 3 to 1 Weather Report Snow Showers It's going to be a cold one, and expect some snow showers. The high is 18 degrees, but it will feel like the temperature is in the single digits. Other News
