2009-10 Franchise Preview: Pirates

Next on the list is the Pirates. Last year, they flirted with last place throughout the entire season, before GM Andrew McDonald made a trade at the deadline. From there, the Pirates won six of their next seven, putting themselves in the Championship Game. Although they lost to the Jets, they had a successful first season in the FHL. The team is led by Tony Bonacorso, and he seems like the popular choice to be franchised by the Bucs. Bonacorso finished the season wtih 28 goals and 21 assists in his first year in the league. Aside from Bonacorso, the Pirates have a number of talented players, including Brian Hreha, Drew Hruska, Ryan Cleary, Joe Rogers, and Shane Lucas. Any of these players are looking like they will be entering the 2009 FHL Draft. OUR PICK
