Interview with Recently Acquired King, Adam Cristallini
Joe Rogers here, this is part two of six interviews with a member of each FHL squad.
We're here with the recently acquired King, Adam Cristallini...How's everything?
I'm good Joe, just got in from Cincinnati a few hours ago on a trip.
That Pitt loss was tough eh?
Yes. Very hard to swallow, not a good weekend.
Sure was tough. Anyways, let’s talk hackey. What are your reactions to being traded before the season even begins?
Well, I mean I don't even know how to explain it really. It was pretty odd to hear I was traded just hours after the Draft. I thought something like that would happen at the draft, not right after.
Correct me if I'm wrong but you were a first round pick last year. This year you slipped to the 4th round and then were subsequently traded. Any clue what caused your draft stock to plummet so mightily and your plans on making other GM's around the league pay for not drafting you sooner?
Well I blame myself. I should've gone where I did, if not lower. I just wasn't around last year because of playing High School Basketball. it was too hard for me to be there when I really wanted to. Which hurt my development with Boyle. But this year I plan to change all of that dramatically and become a figure in the league.
That's good to hear. Last year the Flyers seemed to play with a different swagger after Chink took the helm as captain. This year, he put together a stellar draft class by combining up and coming talent with savvy veterans. Care to comment on Jamie Zelena as a player and captain?
I think Jamie wants to win right away. Which I like in a captain. And he wants to make a name for himself around the FHL. He's a very aggressive person, you can tell the way he drafted this year. I think we're going to have a solid team in a all-around competitive league.
Several weeks before the draft, Chink made a blockbuster deal by acquiring Bill Seaman for a 2nd and 5th round pick. What can you say about getting a chance to skate with the future FHL hall of famer?
Oh I can not wait for that. It's going to be fun playing with him. He creates, which I think we'll get us in front of the net more and able to score more goals consistently.
Yea he's one of the league's elite for sure. Okay. Game 5. tie game. 3 minutes to play. Which four Kings do you want on the ice?
Well good question. I'd have to say.....Me, Hruska, with Seaman, and Pingor playing D.
Ok now for some quick response questions. No explanations required. Team to beat outside your organization?
Hawks
Kings player to watch?
Drew Hruska
FHL breakthrough player of the year?
Tony Bonacorso
One guy you can't stand to play against?
Gilson
Defensive player of the year?
Nick Siniawski
FHL MVP?
Chad Kanz
Can't argue with that. Okay thanks for your time AC. Good luck to you and the kings this year.
Ok Pack, thanks for having me.
