Interview with Jets 2nd Round Pick, Ryan Sabo
In a bi-weekly article in preparation for the 2008-09 FHL Season, Media Director Joe Rogers will be interviewing a member of each team to discuss the upcoming season. This is the first of six installments, this one in particular featuring Jets 2nd Round Choice Ryan Sabo.
We're here with Jets second round pick Ryan Sabo. How are ya Sabe?
Hey Pack I’m great. How’s everything?
Doin’ well, thanks. Ready to play some hackey.
I’m excited to play, It should be a very interesting season.
No doubt. How do you feel about your squad in general?
I feel that right now, again the Jets are the favorite to win.. We got a tough, smart, physical hockey team. Most of these players have at least one cup under their belt or have been there before.
With Mark Fetsko missing a lot of action at Penn State, and Dan Drane elsewhere in the league, who picks up the physicality for the Jets?
Right now, I have had talks with Zak [Campbell] and I feel that I should be a physical player trying to pick up the slack. I have gained 10 pounds since last year and feel a lot stronger. I’m just going to try and be a physical presence and try to help my team win games
Have you heard much about the 4th overall pick, Jason Tatrai? Little was known going into the draft, but we can see with the early choice how much confidence Campbell and Barca have in him
Yanno Campbell and Barca are veterans. They’ve been there, they know how to win, and they also know what players can get them to the top. I’m not sure how he is but I’m confident that Campbell and Barca are going to make the right decision to get us to the top and win and FHL Championship
Well said. Any word on Wahal's commitment? He's typically here one week then gone for a few but manages to make an impact when he is in attendance.
Zach is a great player, I have had the privilege to win a Cup with the Crosbys with him and he is a great guy in the locker room and a great leader as it shows on the ice.. I think the impact he will make in the season will help us a lot and also our chemistry. The last few years have been good on the same line, hopefully Campbell can keep us on the same line to do some damage.
Thanks for the in depth answers Sabe, now some quick predictions. Jets starting 4 come playoffs when all players attend?
Right now our team is so deep you don’t really know who it will be but from the looks Campbell, Barca, Tatrai, and Fetsko if he shows
